1. Caps and Smartfones

How do I disinfect and clean EEG caps?

In this article you can find all the information needed to wash GEL or SEMI-DRY SPONGE caps.

Gel caps need to be washed with water every time after use. Additionally, you can use baby shampoo for washing. Depending on the system you have, you received a washing kit that's used to protect the amplifier casing during cap washing.

If your system didn't come with an amplifier washing cover, you can use a towel to protect the cap connector.

You can find a step-by-step video on our YouTube channel on how to use the washing kit:

Smarting PRO (32-channel system) has a slightly different washing cover than presented in the video, but the procedure still stays the same. The cover is in the shape of a see-through bag that can be tied shut. This is because the amplifier cap box is different from the PROX box in the video.

And a video on how to wash the gel cap without a washing cover:

Lastly, make sure the caps are completely dry before putting them away. If you are in a hurry, you can use a hair-drier to dry them faster, but the hair-drier should be on a cool setting!

Semi-dry sponge caps should be rinsed out with water from time to time, so that you remove any salt residue on the cap fabric. You can see the washing procedure below.

For Greentek semi-dry sponge caps you can find the white list of disinfectants on the page linked here.
