I'm having trouble with my Bluetooth connection and frequent data loss

If you're noticing a sudden change in your Bluetooth stability, you can find some helpful steps below for both Windows and Android apps.

💻Bluetooth troubles with Windows App (mbtStreamer)

  • If you're using the provided Bluetooth 5.0 dongle, make sure you disable internal Bluetooth drivers on your PC. You can do this from Device Manager.

You'll notice a warning sign next to at least one driver. This means you need to disable one of the drivers, so that the other can work properly. Here, plug out the dongle and right-click on the main driver on your PC. Select DISABLE and all the drivers will retract.

Once they are disabled, plug the dongle back in. In Device Manager, you won't see any warning signs if everything is set up correctly now.

  • If you've used, or are still using Smarting with the same PC as the new PRO line device, this is not recommended. If you use BlueSoleil for connecting Smarting, BlueSoleil can't co-exist with new, Bluetooth 5.0 drivers. You'll need to completely remove BlueSoleil from your PC. You can still connect Smarting using the Bluetooth 5.0 dongle (see article linked here on how to set it up).

  • If you’re not using the provided 5.0 dongle, it might be good to get one if there’s trouble, as it increases the range and Bluetooth stability.

  • Make sure you have the most updated application version. You can download it from our Downloads page.

📲Bluetooth troubles with Android (SmartingProApp)

  • Turn off Wi-Fi during recording (if possible).

  • Go to Apps in Settings, find SmartingProApp and its Battery settings. Set this to Unrestricted, which will give the app permission to use battery power without restrictions.

  • Make sure to have the most updated version of the app.
